Hi,

Just joined the forum as did a deal yesterday on a Mercedes CLA180 (1.6 manual) AMG Line, 2017.

Hopefully collect the car at the end of this coming week (needs a few touch ins and the frotn wheel rims refurb'd).

Have owned a couple of A-Class in the past (2001 models) but this will be my first (arguably) proper Mercedes.

Looking forward to reading through the forum for hints and tips about my (soon to be) new car.

A book that provides information on the vehicle, but not many people bother to read it.

Picked the car up this morning and it is excellent. The front wheels were fully refurbished, and the minor scuffs had been touched in/addressed. It also came with 2 sets of genuine mats (Mercedes and AMG), and the dealer also fuelled it with a full tank of petrol too, which was a surprise!

Only slight issue, neither of the keys are working to lock/unlock the car, though both work fine to start it. The dealer (independant franchise) have replaced the batteries to no avail and have also been onto Mercedes who are saying both keys will need replacing, but the dealer have offered to pick up the bill, though speaking to Mercedes myself, I cannot order them till I have the V5 in my name/address, and then the keys could take up to 6 weeks to arrive. Until then, I have to use the key blade to lock/unlock the drivers door.

The start/stop button was also missing (in the centre console on test drive), but they are trying to find that now, but will also get them to add it to the key replacement order/bill, if it doesn't turn up before.

Have managed to pair my Samsung phone via bluetooth, but despite the spec list saying it has Android Auto/Apple Carplay, I cannot see it in the menus and the phone doesn't seem to activate it. Have connected the phone via USB cable in the port on the armrest with the phone/tablet symbol. Does anyone know if this is something that can be activated myself, or another potentially for MB to do?

Audio 20 in the car (according to spec list) was navigation ready, but didn't come with any memory card, so have ordered the Garmin Pilot memort card off eBay.

Thats good about the wheels and scuffs, although nothing less than you would expect.
Not so good about the keys though. If I understand correctly the car is keyless entry but for some reason it is not detecting the key to unlock the doors (but is allowing the push button start) so you have to use the emergency key contained inside the fob?
This is a bit of a pain to say the least because the emergency key is far from ideal to use on a regular basis.
If the deal was concluded today I woud expect your V5C to arrive no later than Wednesday so just make sure your dealer picks up all the cost for the new keys.
The photos of your car look very nice but I am confused by the number pate S50 CNR, because this is registered to a 2020 Kia.

According to the spec list from the VIN, it has keyless start, but not keyless entry, but pressing the fob buttons isn't locking/unlocking the car. The dealer have agreed to pick up the bill for the new keys, so shouldn't cost me anything, I just have to go and sort out the ordering myself. Aye its a pain, having to use the blade key, but hopefully 6 weeks is the longest and they'll come quicker once ordered.

The private plate on the pics was on it when it was traded in, but has since been reassigned by its former owner, so the car now has its original 2017 plates back on, but I will be putting my own private plates on, once the V5 is here and the keys are ordered.

Managed to find and get Android Auto working great with my Samsung phone. Think I just wasn't delving deep enough into the sub menus, but eventually found Android Auto and Apple Carplay both there when I had a good look.
