Hi,
I spose a bit of an introduction is called for first.
Im Stuart (Slippy is my parrots name) Im from Mexborough, South Yorkshire. Im 40, married, with a son & step son. I am the proud owner of a 1988 Porsche 944 & my newly aquired toy (3 days ago) a 1999 Mercedes 200 CLK auto in Quartz blue.
I had a beautiful 190e some years back & never forgave myself for letting her go so wanted to put things right by getting another Merc.

As my budget was a little tight, it took a while to find a car I liked but it does need a good clean & a few faults I want to sort ASAP. Ive had a look through the site but not found all the answers yet so here goes -

1, The heater blower does not blow, Ive checked the fuse, thats ok. Every so often it will come to life, but only for a few seconds, then it goes off again. Where do I start first?

2, There is a Nokia phone cradle to the left hand side of the heater controls. How do I remove the heater control panel to remove the bracket?

3, The rear parcel shelf speakers are very distorted & need replacing. Are they easy to remove?

4, Radio reception is poor, where is the ariel & has anyone replaced their ariel & with what / where?

Sorry for the questions & I look forward to any replies I get.

Thanks
Stuart

Hi Malcolm,
Thanks for that. How difficult a job is that? Is it a main dealer job or could any decent garage do it?

Reading back through some of the threads after Malcolm pointed me in the right direction, I have just visited Euro car parts in Sheffield & bought a new heater motor. Result!! I can now keep warm & de mist my windows.

Any ideas how to remove the facia around the heater control knobs so I can remove the phone cradle bracket please?
