Hi All am a newbie so if this is in the wrong place I do apologise.
I have owned a 163 ML 270 cdi since Jan 2006 and it has been 100% reliable so far over the 75,000 miles I have added!! Now has 122,500 total
I am more used to mending MGBs with a hammer, rag and can of WD40 so please bear with me.
Advice please
On setting off and when vehicle is cold the car is doing a good impression of a Police siren. The note rises with engine speed but is not matched to it. I imagine it to be the alternator or scare myself with thoughts of bearings in the Turbo any ideas?
Second problem is when the car is hot the auto gear changes are just like "riding the clutch" in a manual car. As the gear goes to change the engine revs rise as if clutch engaged and the throttle opened.
