E350 AMG Line Coupe 2015
Just joined this forum after buying my 2015 C207 e350 coupe, and wanted to say hi to everyone. I previously had a fairly standard C class, which never missed a beat, but was slightly boring. I then went for a 3.0d Jag XF, which was gorgeous, especially the cabin, but over a couple of years proved to be unreliable. Once I decided to trade it in, another Mercedes was my only consideration, and I was torn between an E class and a CLS. In the end, the lockdown made my mind up for me, because I bought locally instead of travelling round the country like I usually do when replacing my cars. I’m very happy with the e350. The 9G box is astounding, as is the intelligent lighting system, and the Command system wipes the floor with the awful clunky Jag X250 touchscreen. My only gripe is the Artico seats. They really do lack the luxurious feel of leather, especially after coming from a Jag. The lumbar support motor has failed and is due for replacement this week, so hopefully I’ll feel a bit better about the seats once this is done.

Welcome Micky, lovely car and good engine choice!
Artico isn’t too terrible and as you say with repaired lumbar support you’ll forget them...

Hi Micky and welcome to the forum. I had eight happy years in my C207 E350. The lumbar support makes a big difference and you should find the seats a lot better when that’s sorted. I’ve got ILS on my current car and, after 18 months, it still fascinates me. :)

Hi Micky, welcome to the best MB forum out there :) Interesting that you say the 3.0d XF became unreliable. My son in law had that same car and it proved to be so unreliable that JLR eventually bought it back from him. Nice car but what a pig  You mention the leather seats in the XF, I found them very hard to get out of because of the height of the seat and the slippery leather. A colleague of mine also had an XF and he got rid of his for the same reason. When my son in law got rid of his XF back to JLR he also bought an MB, not a single problem since. You have made a wise decision, beware, MB's are addictive :D

Welcome. I was considering defecting to Jaguar early this year when l decided it was time to say goodbye to my faithful v6 202. Eventually l decided to stick with my favourite marque and I'm glad l did.

Welcome Micky, this is a very supportive forum. If problems arise, useful solutions are offered. We're all here because we like these cars. Have you already located a suitable Indie garage near you? The best ones will save you time & expense.

Hi, I’ve used the same garage for 20 years (Ribble View Garage in Preston), the owner John Barton is brilliant, he’s never let me down with any of my cars and his prices are very good. He’s not a specialist in any brand, but he’ll service according to manufacturer specs if you ask him to. Usually I just leave him to do whatever he thinks is best. The only problem I have is that he’s always over-worked and rushed, but I’d definitely rather use a busy tradesman than one with time on his hands!

Yes, thanks, I love it so far. I posted yesterday that there is a stone chip in the top front grille, and another member said you were the man to speak to. Do you know how easy it is to swap out the grille on this specific facelift model? (YouTube suggests the bumber needs to come off). I’ve thought about a diamond grille, but I’m not convinced these will stay looking good for long, and I’ll probably just go with a stock oem replacement instead. You wouldn’t happen to know the part number would you?

This website is quite good for part numbers although it takes quite a lot of digging to get to the correct section.
