Something very wrong with this add.

This car does not have parking sensor
It does not have a touch screen
Its petrol, not diesel.
No wind break
One of the jacking point covers is upside down

Me think he knows very little about this car.

Me thinks he know nothing about the car really.....touch screen wtf??

Ha ha...not hugely observant this week am I ??:D

Not that easy John, those wheels were standard and they only cam in the 18" size. plus that last Ebay one has some AMG111, they were not an option on that car at that time as they are much older than the car.

Well at least I spotted the AMG III wheels which look entirely wrong on a 230 IMO.....

That one is also missing the wind break.

They were an option on my 2002 SL500 here is a picture in the showroom in Liverpool. I never liked them at all.

And another popped up on eBay :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222074260389

Low mileage looks a very nice car (not the best photos but you can see through that). No wind break visible though !

Biggest snag is this car is right on the south coast about 260 miles away from me ! Auction format as well so no guarantee of buying the car.......

This one has parking sensors, it could have keyless go (unless the gear knob has been changed) It does not have premium sound and as you say no wind break

Ah hadn't noticed the keyless go, looking back on the ad it definitely looks to have it.

To be honest I'd seek to avoid keyless go, it's interesting monitoring the market as they keep popping up for sale !

The vendor doesn't mention the keyless go, contrary to your thoughts big fella that would help a sale, it is desirable. And works well so far in my limited experience. he mentions premium sound system, can't see it? Overall though it looks mint. The alloys are completely undamaged from what I can see and it looks like someone has taken pride in this one or at least prepared it for sale well.

Just joined here myself and what a difference to "other" car forums! We took the plunge and bought a 2004 sl350 last year. We saw quite a few before finding ours Jasper Blue with 23000 on the clock and the spec we wanted - no pano roof etc. There are loads out there so my suggestion is to look at some and the right one will come along. What a great car - you wont regret .it!

It might be worth your posting in the "wanted section" here .

In my experience and subsequent opinion I would only buy and ebay car if I could see clearly from the wording that it comes from a MB enthusiast or someone who describes the important issues well indicating that they understand the marque rather than someone telling us that aluminium is better than wood

Thanks

Paul

I probably would not have specified keyless but having got it on my used E320cdi find it excellent and have had no trouble with it over the last 4 years or so. The more extras you can get on a used vehicle the better in my view as you often get them for nothing!
