Hi All, recently purchased a 2004 clk convertible 240- 2.6 petrol


- 92k, Auto in black.

I knew it had a roof problem when i bought it!!! ..
After a few weeks of having the car went out to start her one morning only to find that the key wouldn't turn in the barrel normally there us a click which in turn allows you to turn over the car, i found that you had to push the key in quite hard and after maybe a dozen attempts it would allow you to start her, its got worse to the point it won't allow you to start her at all,
Called AA and had her taken to a gargage that specialises in Mercedes, i ordered a new euc kit on ebay (w209) - Q2, which i had installed and advised this match's the Merc, the gargage rang after fitting it saying it still won't allow the barrel to turn, and theres there's a issue with the part possibly so i ordered another replacement ecu kit, (w209) which has Q4 marked on barrel.. Gargage called again today to say this euc kit doesn't fit the car.... Having a Nightmare...
If anyone can please advise me i would really appreciate it.. as i feel that i am going around in circles.. If there's any thoghts/advice on this issue i would really reallyappreciate it..

Welcome Paul, unless you have a great knowledge of cars, I'd recommend letting the mercedes specialist order the parts. You haven't mentioned whether your specialist has Star diagnostics? If not, they're less specialist than you think. In the right hands, these cars are manageable. In the wrong hands they bring grief & expense.

Welcome Paul, looks like you are already with a Mercedes specialist so as mentioned above why not let them source the part for you as well as fitting? It's cost you 2 x failed parts so far so better to bite the bullet now?
