Bought the car in March with just 15k on the clock. Only managed a few 100 miles before I had to travel abroad so its being looked after by my daughter.
Initial impressions are it's a very relaxing drive, better suited for motorways than country roads, economy is very good.
Recently it has as started to overheat with the fan staying on and a smell of burning. Diagnostics say nothing is wrong, now booked in with Mercedes Cribbs Causeway at the end of July (earliest they could fit it in) I'll post what they find.

Glad you like the car they are very nice. What you may be experiencing with what you describe as ‘overheating’ is the car doing a DPF regeneration whereby fuel is injected into the exhaust to burn off the soot in the DPF. If the weather is hot the engine fan will come on to dissipate the heat especially if the car is standing with the engine running. A bit disconcerting when you are not used to it but nothing to worry about.

Thanks Malcolm, that sounds like it, but as it's under a warranty I'll still have my daughter take it in to give her peace of mind.

Hi Anthony and welcome. Yes, definitely a DPF regeneration which is entirely normal. The car has probably not been used for some time, both when it was for sale at the dealers and since you’ve had it. It just needs a good motorway run for 30 minutes or so and that will sort it. It will happen from time to time in the future but, often, you won’t even notice it.
