Lovely car remember those in Germany in the 60's & 70's. Why is it still on a German Zoll export registration plate, or Tag as you call them?

The W111 was designed by Paul Bracq
280 SE Coupé
Build years dates 11/67–5/71
Chassis # 111.024 M130.980 / 984 / R 6
Displacement 2778 cc 160 PS (118 kW; 158 hp)
3,797 total production
The 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SE Low Grill saw approximately 500 units imported to the United States
The front German Oval Plate is from another W113 of mine

Front plate is optional in CA, if I'm not mistaken :)

they will cite you if you don't have one but so far so good
I keep the actual front plate in the car and post on the dash if I am parked in public.

They really are. I just love the design and the body lines
The plate was from my w113 - more of a touch than function
Very comfortable, enough power, oozes with wood, leather, and elegance and lots of class.
I think last of the hand built models.
I drive it as much as I can on weekdays and weekends.

I'm not sure whether you should park it in the garage or an art gallery..

I think an Art gallery, it is just so beautiful. Makes me go weak at the knees :)

Ah, right - I had a place in Fort Lauderdale, FL and as any [semi] native Floridian just assumed that, everywhere else is the same LOL
