Good Evening All,

I would like to introduce myself as a new member of this fantastic facility. I now have my first MB it is a C Class 230 Avantgared SE 06 plate in Cubanite with 12100 mile,s on the clock one previous keeper and full MBSH. I work overseas and due to the negligence of Abbey National with the cash transfer I have had virtually no time with the vehicle when i had to leave the UK.

I would very much appreciate all advice good or bad on the above model from the many learned member's of this owner,s forum.

If it has the 7G gearbox like mine then you could experience clunky down changes in which case you will need to get the dealer to upgrade the gearbox software. I'm still not convinced with this box and think the 5 speed in the wife's SLK is smoother. I also had to have the diff seals replaced recently under warranty. Apparently these have been upgraded. The V6 is pretty hard on rear tyres and the Kumho KU31's seem to offer the best performance, wear and cost effectiveness. I've just had them replaced at 20K miles against 14-15K for the original Contis.

Thank you for your comment and yes my car has the 7G gearbox as I explained in my earlier post I have not had much time with the car as yet. I will bear in mind your comment and respond to you as and when.
