I have just leased a new Merc C-class and was wondering if a set of 18 inch AMG wheels will fit onto in because it looks a bit tight to me??

The C-class Sport comes with 17inch AMG and was wondering if they would fit without a problem.

I noticed this on one of the Australian MB sites,

"The NEW W204 C class and Vito use a very large offset and we have no alloy wheels that suit them, sorry."

They sold MB alloys for every other model except these.

Remember, wheel diameter is irrelevant as the overall wheel and tyre diameter must not change (taller wheel, narrower sidewall to compensate). You can have a 16" wheel with 65 profile tyre or an 18" with say a 35 profile. Side by side, the tyre height must be identical or the gearing and therefore speedo will be affected.
Clearly if you increase the width, that would have an effect but all things being equal, As rf065 says, its the offset that's critical.

According to the W204 brochure, option code 786 which is 18" AMG alloy wheels in a 5-twin-spoke design with 225/40 R18 tyres on the front and 255/35 R18 tyres on the rear is available as a factory option on the Sport model.

These wheels are also shown in the W204 Accessories brochure, being 8 J x 18 ET 50 and 8.5 J x 18 ET 54 front/rear respectively.

Hope that helps!
