Hi Guys.
Just got my new Merc S320 CDI L.
Bought it slightly used, 2006/56 and it has come with a nice spec.

18" wheels,
Infrared glass,
Sun Blind rear and sides,
Auto boot closer,
TV function,
Phone Prep,
DVD Changer etc etc..

Pics below.
I just wanted to know, basically the car was debadged, so i got some badges for the boot lid from ebay (only place i could find them) they have arrived, very nice quality, original looking.

Went to stick them on today, used a spirit level to make sure they were straight etc, and when i stood back, realised the badges are straight and the ****** boot lid isn't... great looks really bad, have had to park it backwards on the drive tonight, as it looks really bad and wonky!

My question, if you use the general techniques of taking off badges, i.e. hairdryer to burn the sticky bits, or dental floss as i've done previously and other people have mentioned, then can you stick them back on anyway.. or shall i get re-bidding on ebay! not bothered as they only cost me £8 but still, took two weeks to arrive from the malaysia seller so would rather reuse if i can.

Also, i havea USB MP3 thingy, which i use in my Bmw 335d coupe using the Aux 5mm jack, can't find one anywhere in the S class, is there one? anyone know, or do i need to consult the textbook of the manual that comes with the car!

Pics below of my new toy:

I assume you bought from a proper Mercedes dealer. Having got the best saloon car in the world according to most motoring magazines, why not let the dealer fit proper Merc badges and they will place them in the proper place. Anything else could affect your resale value. They'll sort out an ipod or MP3 link too.

Pays to service with them too as they will do all the recalls, updates, service campaigns and so on. And you get free breakdown service in UK and in Europe.

with things like that I always say to the salesman after we've agreed the deal, "by the way, whilst you're prepping it ..". They normally oblige and can't be bothered charging as its only pennies - or they ask me to buy the parts and they'll pop them on.
You may be able to refit them or get new fakes from ebay but on a motor like that, I'd want proper MB badges fitted by a proper MB bloke. You can always tell the cars that have after market or after fitted badges, they never look right. Height is off, angle etc - best let he dealer do it.

Totally agree with Jberks, a car like that deserves to be treated to the best, and I am pretty sure that a word with the salesman who sold it to you (it looks like an MB dealer) will result in them fitting them for free, or at a nominal charge.
