Hi
I'm new to this, so excuse me if this has been asked already.
I've just orderd a new MB from a dealership in the uk. Is there anywhere online I can check the progress of the car? I've checked with the dealer and they just tell me its built.

Thanks
Dave

Whoaaa.

A new one. Hope you are not paying the V.A.T yourself..............

Golden Brown is all for us ordering new ones - brings his retirement date forward...!! V.A.T = vacuous additional tax...!!!

Hope it is a Company one...

If new, Mercedes website allows you to progress it. MB Will pay for you to pick it up from the factory if you want to. They will really look after you.

MB Pay all costs - even if a Company purchase - talk to your dealer....

If it is already built it is almost certainly too late to organise factory collection.

There is no way of avoiding VAT on any new items you buy. Nothing quite equals the pleasure of buying new and I hope you enjoy it. It may cost a bit more but many think it worth the extra pleasure.

I do agree. Its a super magic feeling knowing you are its first proud owner. Trouble is you need VERY deep pockets to do this.
My C200K is just over 2 years old and I paid about half the cost of a new model.
OK, the W203 has been replaced by the W204 now so its an out of date model, but to lose over £15,000 in 2 years is a massive hit.
However, as hawk20 says - ENJOY ! ! ! ! ! ! :D :p :D :p :D

Hi Guys,
Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. I've ordered a new style C-class 220 cdi sport. Go on then give me the flames. Unfortunatley it's not a company car. Had to break open the wifes piggy bank, to pay for this one. I just thought that I might be able to track its progress. the dealership keep changing the delivery date on me. Your right there's nothing like picking up a new car. The wife gets a bunch of flowers and she's sorted.

No flames from me. It is a very nice nice car and has had wonderful reviews. And given the price of fuel it offers a good blend of reasonable performance and excellent economy. I am sure you will enjoy.

New model. Production delays can happen. But your dealer has the best information. Worth the wait.

BTW on the depreciation point you could not buy the new C class any other way, at the moment, than brand new. There are no two year old ones. And for a long while the depreciation figures will be quite low, as usually happens with new models from Mercedes.

I could have speced the car myself but i wouldnt have got it until November. I bought one that had been already spec'd. According to the dealer, MB didnt anticipate the demand for the sport model and have ran short on parts, go figure.

Do you know someone who could have estimated it exactly correctly?

Hi
I have my CDi 220 Sport on order through Arvels the leasing company who originally quoted October 1st then November 7th. The latest date is Mid December as Mercedes understimated the demand on these models and have run short of AMG bodykits. In the meantime my TDCi MOndy has 91000 miles on clock and counting :)

Finally got my CDi220 Sport last Thursday and wow what a car! I had it fitted with the internal phone wiring option and although my Nokia N95 doesnt have a specific cradle I just bluetoothed it and it syncs fine and works great now.

Great handling, nice sound, slightly faster than my Mondeo although not had a chance yuet to thrash it on the back roads going to work, but I will :)

Cant quite get used to an automatic hence the wife keeps hitting the windscreen when I dip the clutch ;-)

£31k but well worth it so far!

Old advice but still valid:- For the first week or so tuck your left foot right up underneath you to drive and remember to say out loud at every junction "it won't stall".

LOL - Thanks for that it does work and my dad had suggested I do this also. It was either this or the wifes left foot was getting tucked somewhere I didnt want it to go.

Thanks for the advice.
