Hi,
I received my ML55 yesterday without a User Manual. I am locking the car simply by pressing the lock button on the keyfob, and unlocking the car by the unlock button on the keyfob.

Problem is, that the alarm seems to have a life of its own. Sometimes when I lock the car the alarm can sound after about 30 seconds, and sometimes it doesn`t. After locking the car last night, the alarm was fine during the night but then sounded at 6:30am this morning, when I pressed the keyfob lock button the alarm sounded after a few seconds. This continued till I sat in the car, put the key in the ignition and pressed the reset button on the overhead trip computer turning "something" from ON to OFF (not sure what this is). That seems to have done the trick....for the moment.

Should I take it to a dealer or am I not exiting the car correctly or activating the alarm correctly ? All doors and windows seem to be closed fine ?

Any thoughts ?

U really need someone to have a look at it. it would appear to be set up too sensitive check with the dealer first if it can be reset on the star diagnostic.. and try and get hold of one of the service technicians and ask all manner of questions..like have u seen this happening before? is it a big problem with these cars/alarms ??

The ON/OFF is the alarm for the anti-lift sensor. In other words, if some thieving scrote wants to lift it on a tow truck and drive it away, the systems detects the lifting motion - if it is ON.

If it is OFF, it won't.

The option is there in the event of a breakdown - so it won't be screaming and shouting as the tow truck lifts the vehicle and takes it away.
