New owner needs help

Hi, Ive got a problem with my 97 E280.

I went to the shop tonight and when i started the car i had the warning message, 'battery charging + -' and the sign of a battery come up. Then the car died and i couldnt start it - the engine would turn over but it wouldnt start. On the third attempt it did, but i really had to keep the revs up to keep it running. Its fine now but i am a little worried. Any ideas???

Also, where is the battery, sorry for such a bone question, but i cannot find it.

Could well be the original battery, if so 11 years old so hasn't done bad. The colder weather of autumn soon finds any weak ones.

Try looking in the boot, under the boot mat.

Not sure if yours is in the boot or under the rear seat, seek and ye shall find , but someone who knows will be along soon..as for the battery, it is worth changing coming into this time of year..

As above, it is the time of the year when the batteries start to fail,, you could measure the voltage before you start should be 12.5v if gone do buy a good make and not a house brand
