Hi please can any one give some advice. I have purchased a E240 estate 1998 elegance. No rust and is pristine, it has a full MB service history apart from the last one which is an independant garage from where i bought it.
The car has about 1.5 months warranty left. At present i am in the Czech Republic on holiday in this car and have noticed a few things over the long distances

1- A noise like a rubbing sound is noticeable above the engine noise, which increases with speed. It is still there if you take your foot off the accelerator.
Like a w w w w w w w wwwwww as the speed increases. The sound seems to be coming from the front of the car. I don§t think it is the tyres as this would give a more constant sound.

2 - Sometimes the car does not seem quite smooth at the start, this morning for the first time it went quite lumpy and would not pick up for a split second then ok. The service history indicates the plugs were done at 40000, it has now done 78000.

3 - The drivers window when pressed to go up, sometimes stops and starts to go down again for no reason.

4 - The electronic temperature display sometimes is less bright than the rest of the display. Then after a while it corrects itself

I hope someone can help me, i love the car its still so tight to drive
Should i get and independent person to look like an AA inspection before i take it back to the garage

Please advise Eden
