Hi all, first time owner of a Mercedes and what a lovely car this c350 is!

although the only thing I’m struggling with is how to play music (Spotify) from my iPhone X through the car..

I have the leads in the glove box which allow for a usb to be connected but then car won’t recognise my phone no matter how many times I try, and obviously the iPod connector won’t fit..

Any help will be appreciated!

Hi James - I don’t think you can do that with the standard technology. Back in 2010, connecting an iPod was new technology as far as Mercedes went. The leads you have allow you to do that or connect a USB stick. You might find you can get a adaptor to connect etc your iPhone Lightning Connector to the old style iPod plug but I don’t think it will cope with Spotify.

I believe there is some option for adding a Bluetooth adaptor or your alternative is to try and add CarPlay with something like this from Integrated Automotive.

No doubt someone else will be along to clarify the Bluetooth options.

If your W204 is facelift, you can use bluetooth audio to play Spotify from your phone through the headset.

That retrofit looks very good! But awfully expensive option

Then no, you cannot do it natively. If you have a umi interface in your glove box, then you can buy an aux adapter for this and plug it in with a Bluetooth a2dp adapter but ti's a bit clunky.

ahh ok, yeah I do have the umi in my glovebox, how much would an adapter be? And could you possibly point me in the direction of a proven recommended one? Tia

You could do that with a lightning to 3.5mm adapter for the iPhone X

I haven’t got an AUX port, looks everywhere unless I’m blind... I’ve only got the interface connection
