I was so impressed I bought the company-sorry I mean I bought one (RoadAngel, not a shaver from Braun!)
I dont seem to have any problems with picking up 3 or 4 Sats about 2-3mins after power up, and it hasnt missed a Gatzo yet. What a fine piece of kit. The only thing I find annoying is the silly little power plug at the rear of the unit. I leave the windscreen mount on all the time and remove the unit when I leave the car, but plugging it back in every time is a fiddly pain in the rear. I have the power lead permanantly hardwired into an ignition swithced feed. What I would really like is a docking station type mount where I can just put the unit onto it and it connects the power as well-Just like my Nokia handsfree kit, that would be fantastic. Does anyone know if they make one? or any other solution? Thanks.

Hi JonW- Its actually wired into the feed side of the glovebox light before the switch. It becomes live when the ignition is in the 'Aux' position not the full ignition. Seems to work great. his is on a C280 for your info. If you are going to do this make sure you buy a cigar lighter socket and plug the original lead into that as the original lead has a protective fuse in it. Good luck Jon.

Thanks for the info reflexboy.

It's quite a route over to the glove box, but I'll investigate it tomorrow. I actually cut off the lighter plug when I had it in the TT but incorporated an inline fuse. It was easy on the TT, the fuse box was in the same position as the merc, [well one of them anyway according to the handbook the merc has 3 fuse boxes] and many of the feeds in there were ignition switched. I hope I can find a route for it. :)
