I recently had lights adjusted for continental use. The MB dealer carried out the work, although it seemed to prevent a lot of light being projected to the left the overall effect was to make dipped beam lower and short. When I mentioned this they said it was a symptom of making the pattern symmetrical. They have since returned it to UK spec which does seem to have lifted the beams. The car has bi-xenon active cornering lights and night vision. I wondered if there is a way the lights can be adjusted leaving the height of the beam normal. There seems to be a bit of lack of knowledge by the dealer as this is a new model. Any opinions appreciated.

Sadly your car is too new for me to comment on, other than it would appear that the lights have just been lowered rather than LHD set. they can only be adjusted on "Star " diagnosis.

The longer I sit here, the less I find that the dealers know. I think you will have to have them re set to the correct posistion.

Thanks Malcolm, I am unsure if the work the dealer did was wrong or as good as it could be or a mistake. Two different 'technicians' had differing opinions, one stating that there were two ways of setting the LHD option. I will probably risk the wrath of the Spanish and French police and leave them as they are.
I must agree with your opinion of dealers, the only thing my dealer seemed to do efficiently was to 'swipe' my debit card for the cost of the car.
Thanks again
Richard
