New SD Card - SAT NAV

Hi All,

I've just picked up a GLA 200 and when selecting the satnav option it states no SD card inserted, can someone advise where I should purchase one of these?

I am based in Ireland if this makes a difference

I think, but others may correct me, that these are unique to Mercedes - they operate the Mercedes version of Garmin Map Pilot which keeps its data on the SD card rather than on a hard drive like Comand. So your source is your friendly neighbourhood MB dealer. Is this a new or used car? If new, obv the dealer should have installed the card. If used, check where it has gone? As I understand, once these cards have been installed in a car, they wont work in any other car so there is no point in the previous owner removing it - but they may not realise that!

(Just possible your car was sold new with no Map Pilot but if the system recognises the lack of a card this seems unlikely?)

Thanks very much for the response, it was bought 2nd hand with no sd card in the slot so I assume it simply vanished at some stage. I'll get in touch with the MB garage and see what they say. I have seen some in Amazon but they're not MB and I simply dont want to buy and find that they are not compatible
