Easy is not a word I would use as a solution. I recently upgraded my 350 with a Kenwood unit and the dealer was able to do it. It is however, expensive and complicated. Have a look through my previous posts for details. The Kenwood unit is good and uses Android Auto or Apple Car play.

look in the centre console if the NTG2 was tel pre wired, if so a cradle will be present for something like a nokia 6210, get the viseo adaptor.

regarding the question on changing the CD for a HD easily - No.
Look if you have the media kit in the glove box, from there you may be able to plug in an iphone, ipod, but may well need further adaptors as tech on the iphone side has well moved on.

I looked at the media kit and cables, and then was pleased to see the SD card slot above the screen. Bought a massive SD card and am very happy with that solution and think it is probably the best option.
Some of them also have a built in HDD depending on how new the car is. I know my 2009 has both HDD and SD and cable for ipod.

I'm sure you will enjoy the car and gradually discover more about the car over time.
Re the the watery Jokes, Check your rear window and boot seals and repair as mentioned
within this Forum. Did mine eight years ago and still going strong.
Only thing i will add is book your ferries for next year and start planning your European
Grand Tour, as that is what a SL was made for.
