Hello MB owners,

I'm not a newbie in ICE installations, but I'd really like your input.

I'm searching for a perfect sound system with a good kick for my W211 -02 sedan. Any suggestions? Please, if you do have suggestions, give me a reason why the product would be good for my car... Mainly looking for 15-18 inch sub and an amp.

For the amp, I've read trough the forums and didn't find amps powerful enough for couple of 15" subs. My German friend suggested me to get amp from a new German manufacturer "Bayerische Power" but I did not find any reviews in UK mags.

The only forum link to a link to a review I found was on German forum I did not understand a word from.
BP-21200

I don't understand the German language, so could someone translate some of the important bits from this? Gr8ly appreciated...

Other amp suggestions for the price range of 150-300£ are accepted also.

You can feed the text into a google translator. It's a bit pedgeon as it would be but you can normally get the gist.
Not many ICE fanatics on here. We're mostly getting on a bit - though I can still remember getting a top of the line pioneer head unit with a big booster amp back in the 80s!
Personally I'd go to a local ICE specialist and see what they've got. Your 02 211 will probably have an audio gateway in the boot so just make sure that whatever you get is compatible.

My first question is why on Earth do you want one let alone two 15 inch subs? :? The best system I ever heard was the one I had fitted in a BMW that I used to have. I had a UK made Genesis 5 channel amp with active crossover, one ten inch sub (JL audio) and a set of 5 1/4 inch Dynaudio components with tweeters running off a top of the line Alpine single CD head unit. The sound went stupidly loud yet was also beautifully clear and musical. If you really must have huge subs then go for 12 inch at the most (you'll only need one too) and JL audio for a really musical bass that you can hear aswell as feel  Or are you mainly just looking for something thats just ear blowingly loud?

Just me 2p

I'm sure you're not one of those muppets that drive around with the windows down, making all the shop windows vibrate.
But, to those muppets I have one thing to say.
If I wanted to listed to your 'music' I'd buy the CD. Shut the ****** window and turn the damn thing down. Listen to whatever you want in private but don't inflict your nasty tuneless crap on the rest of us! You think you're cool. We think you're an arse.

Sorry
Rant over.

im not old and i agree , im 32 , i have a 12 inch prebuilt vibe sub + amp) in the boot and a slowly advancing system , got a good dvd headunit and currently upgrading all six speakers to rainbow kx series + have a vibe line driver ready for a 6 channel amp to drive all my speakers. im going for good alround sound not shake the boot apart look at me halfords special , its barely audible outside the car apart from slight vibration of boot when subs on full tilt but you need the power in a coupe to transmit the bass via a ported enclosure through the back of the car. if you like music go for a sub by all means but not 2x15" subs , thats overkill. spend the money on wiring and component speakers or a good headunit rather than nausea inducing bass imo.

Totally agree with you in a Mercedes you are pretty restricted to what sort of speakers will fit, in a 202 anyway. Spend your money on some jehnert door builds excellent quality and have the OEM look.
