Hi guys as anyone had to program their ecu after fitting a new steering column module with indicator and cruise control, I have a vito but heard from some one that the ecu might have to be programmed to make the new one compatible with it, otherwise error code lights may pop up in dash, is this something I could easily do myself with a program like xentry? I had a mess around with it earlier and can see there's an option to calibrated the steering angle alignment, is there anything else I would need to set if I buy the new part from mercedes?

Thanks

Dont know myself Stevo but if you enquire from Mercedes when pricing or ordering the new part they should be able to tell you if and what needs programmed? Some of the Merc Techs on here might be more qualified to answer that?

The techs should see this post Stevo. I'm not sure which ones would be familiar with this issue but somebody might post up an answer. Sorry i cant be of more help. What area do you live in? Theres independant merc specialists on the forum here.

If ordering based on vin it may well come programmed from merc. Ask at the parts dept nicely if its plug and play.

Hi that's ok mate, kinda got it sorted now.

Thanks, I've spoken to Mercedes today and given them the vin, and said it won't need programming, because it'll be the same has the original unit. However will probably just need steering angle calibration via xentry which I can do.
