Hi Guys

Just wondered what you opinion on these alloys are for my C180K

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230063254532

1. Will they affect the ride being lower profile 45 vs 55

2. How can one fit 17" 245 section tyres where 16" 205's were peviously without spacers?

3. What is the learned opinion on replicas generally.

4. Is it a bit boy racery? They are after all CLS55 AMG replicas on a C Class!

Comments welcomed, (If my wife responds telling you that i'me not getting them just ignore her;) )

Hi
Really like those wheels been looking at the exactly the same wheel on e-bay too.
But i,ve decided not to mainly because there replicas but "hey" thats my opinion.
You will loose some ride comfort but how much or to what extent i,m not sure i put 17in rims on my M5, ride quality was worse but this was made up by the handling improvement but the car would tramline something wicked (follow the grooves in the road). Which i hated.
If you have to use wheel spacers put narrower tyres on personally would not touch wheel spacers with a barge pole.

Apart from the comfort issue MB wheels are Hubcentric - i.e they centre on the hubs and not with the wheel bolts. Therefore you need to ensure that any aftermarket wheels are also hubcentric otherwise you will need some quite expensive spacers.
There is a guide on here somewhere with all the fitments. If I find it I will post the link.

If these wheels are off a CLS then they won't fit your car. A CLS is based on an E class 211 which have larger diameter wheel bolts, which are shorter in length. If you use your wheel bolts on them, they will never seat properly and may wear into the wheel and become loose.

Thanks Blobcat for the link.

They are not alloys off a CLS type49 they are a replica of a CLS style.

If a guy sells these on ebay you suppose I shouldn't beleive him that they will fit my car?

Find out EXACTLY what car they came off of. Check the offset ( ET ) number & don't deviate from the standard ones by more than 2 or 3, or you might find the car tramlining or generally having a "twitchy" ride.
