New Swedish Speed Camera Design

Hi,
Was driving back and forth from to Stockholm last week, business trip again, and discovered the new speed camera designs, luckily before I got caught.

The new design is simple a ruggedised round post, about 5 foot tall and 5 inches diameter with the camera len integrated into the post shape. No bulky box at all. They are constant communication through the phone network, GSM mobile wireless connection I would assume, and have no limit to the number of pictures that they can send back. All are 100% equipped with cameras, no need to cross your fingers if you get caught, you are caught.

Interestingly enough, they take the picture of the front of the car targeting the driver to always ensure positive ID of who was driving.

Nice design, there must be plenty of money in this game..! How long before they are here?

Hi John, they have had those things for 2 years now, and did you notice that there can be several spaced close to each other, when I went sailing through them all, I had a string of cars on my backside. I only realized what they were when the traffic stopped. Al painted gray to blend in with the gray barriers.
Nice and modern though, I had an idea that I could drive along slowly at night and spray all of the lens black

What a good idea Malcolm I WONDER if anyone in this Country has thought of doing the same. Perhaps quirt expanding foam in the box, cover the whole box with a black bin liner or even set fire to them, doubt it we are all to law abiding

These Swedish ones are all sealed and super modern looking, you cant get foam into them, they are though only about 4ft high

The pole with a round top has the black lens all flush and moulded in, they would win the design awards for the best looking cameras

as i live in sweden i see them all the time. and in fairness 95% of the time you are warned in advance that a camera is there via a road sign (sweden has road signs for everything you can possibly imagine...... everywhere.)
