From my own experience id say watch out for lamp posts

made a mess of my e320 coupe

and broke my leg in 3 places

Real advice!

No one had warned me that lamp posts could be so dangerous.

I've not found any great attraction to lamp posts in my E270, but then the front is mostly aluminium. The steel ones may be more magnetic. Maybe it was currys rather than the lamp post that caused the accident - all that electro magnetism from the tellys. Perhaps you could sue them...
Mine does seem to attract muppets and their pointy car doors though. Still, it keeps dent devils in business.

210 or 211?
In either case, gearbox oil change (45-60k) probably not have been done
If its a 211, then check for the 'Valeo Radiator issue'.

As per jberks above, if it is a W210 then a check for rust would also be recommended.
A great engine in a great car, although I am biased
