Just noticed it's doing its impression of the Torrey Canyon on my drive ...... :eek: Engine under trays are pi$$ed wet through with oil

Intercooler seals probably

I mentioned my oil leak to my Indie (was there for something else) and he was very surprised ..... he said MLs never leak

It is.
The front 1/3 ish of the under trays are dry but wet from there rearwards.

You are lucky then if it is the intercooler seals, parts are £10 and 6-8 hours labour so the warranty will cover it

I'll keep my fingers crossed then. 6 to 8 hrs labour at Mercedes is £700 to £900 :eek:

The answer from the girl on the centralised call centre amused me. I asked if oil leaks in general were covered, her answer was only if there was a manufacturing defect. If there wasn't a manufacturing defect I wouldn't have an oil leak & wouldn't be calling! :D

It is a well known problem on the OM642 engine, mine were done in January 2018

If it is the oil cooler leaking between the Vee of the engine what concerns me is that your car should have been fitted with the Viton type which were supposed to stop this - I thought the changeover from orange seals to purple seals (Viton) was around 2012. This is known problem affecting the OM642 for over 10 years the purple seals were designed to remedy this
