Hello and welcome,

I managed 925 on 1 tankful in my E220d - I wanted to try for 1k miles but never got the opportunity before it went back.

They give increasing warnings so you don’t run them dry as modern diesels can be a PITA to get running of they have been run to empty.

If you fill to the brim when the light comes on, you can work out how much fuel is left in the tank. From there, if you use your average mpg, it'll give you an idea of how many miles are left to go.

My Smart will tell me there's only a couple of litres left but when I fill it up, I can only get 30 litres in it ...... it's a 35 litre tank. So it lies to me! ;)

Welcome - this seems a good idea! I get the message on mine at around 40/50 miles but it’s a petrol so that may be different for the reasons mentioned before.

Welcome to the forum.
I had great fun recently in an E220d. I have a heavy right foot and was convinced the dash display was fantasising about the fuel consumption but it was not. Most frugal beast I've driven since riding a moped. As Blobcat says, 900+ to a tankful! I believe it, that's Land’s End to John O’Groats mileage :D

Just a bit better than an EV then, lol. The government are going to love it when we’re all tied in to a national charging network and they roll out the ULEZ to all cities.
