New to mercedes Benz Ownership

Hi All,

I have just aquired an 1998 "R" C180 Esprit with 90k in the deep burgandy red. Minor rust bubbling size of 5p on bonnet lip and one door.

Drove some 150 miles upon collection and am very pleased with the car.

As for the deal, I would like some reassurance that I have not been "done".

I did a straight swap for a 1998 Vauxhall Sintra (bit tatty being honest) with 87000 miles. Changed as 2.2 16v MPV bit thirsty. Sintra cost me £2400 six months ago.

Did the 150 miles on approx £15 of unleaded Cruise set at 75mph. Car is literally silent at normal motorway speeds, and is very very solid.

Overall im very impressed.

Your thoughts on the deal requested please.

The only thing important is that you are happy with the deal. However loking at prices for '99's (98 too old for my system)
Sintra anything from £1,670 to £2,230
C180 anything from £1,970 ton £2,610
So it looks like you have a finacially good deal.

You may be able to get that rust sorted under MB Warranty if you are quick. Provided you have FSH then Merc will cover rust issues for 8 years from new. 4 years standard warranty and further 4 years goodwill.
They did for me so move quickly and you may get a result.
