Hello guys,

I am currently waiting delivery of a CLA200d 2018 in grey, and wanted to introduce myself.

Never owned a Merc before and tbh I'm really excited!! What a lovely car!!

I have ordered in a manual rather than the auto, anything I should be aware of as it seems everyone goes for the auto.

The manuals are regarded as being as bad as the autos are good...

Yes, I don’t think many buy the manual....

The autos are just so good, not sure why you would, but if you love shifting gear that’s ok I guess!

Hi Sohrab and welcome to the forum and the world of MB. I am a bit confused how you have ordered a manual CLA200d and are awaiting delivery of a 2018 vehicle ? Is it a used car ?

Hello and welcome. The CLA is basically an A Class with a pretty body so you may find some other members on here with a manual but, generally, Mercedes cars are far better with the auto box.

Welcome, the manual box will be a bugger to sell on later. Hope the price you are paying is less than the auto equivalent!

Agree with that, what do people reckon - about £1800 less would be my guess.

Yes I was cheaper than the auto box and tbh I'm looking to keep it for a while so not too bothered about selling later, the manual box is decent too so can't say no

Have you tried the auto though? So much nicer, and you say you aren’t bothered about selling later, but a manual is almost impossible to sell.... and everyone wants to sell sometime.

Obviously you must go with what you want, but I doubt you’ll find many (if any) recommend the manual to be honest - I wouldn’t even if it were £5k cheaper.
