Hi, I have an E220 estate 2017, over a litre of milk was spilt in my boot, the carpet and hard boot board have been removed and cleaned but the smell is still terrible. i need to remove the boot liner to clean underneath it. i have been to my dealership in Preston today and they have quoted £580 to remove the boot liner. my question is, does anyone know if there is a guide i can buy to help me remove the boot liner ? any help would be greatly appreciated... the smell is driving me nuts

look on the likes of MB teile katalog to give you an idea how it all goes together based on your vin, I wouldnt be paying 580 to take something apart assuming your and handy with some tools.

Hi Rick and welcome to the forum. I have had experience with spilt milk in a car, not my car I am glad to say, and unfortunately the smell just gets worse with time unfortunately. With this car the milk was spilt on the back seat and all of the rear upholstery had to be replaced including the rear mats. Good luck with yours, but the rotting milk does need to be completely removed from the car sadly

I have experienced milk on a carpet, and boy it was something else. I feel for you.

Have you tried one of those little Christmas Tree air fresheners ?

We had a terrible smell of Dog in our Landrover, and that is still terrible in hot weather, after two years.

Years ago, and I mean when you could by a brand new MK2 Cortina we had milk spilt in our car. New carpet fixed that problem.

Vinegar and water 1:4 mix and sprayed on works, you need to mop up what you can then spray to soak and clean up.
