I need new front tyres on the car and since I find the grip somewhat lacking in the winter I am going to replace all 4.

The stock alloys currently have 195/65/r15's on. I would like to put something a little more low profile and maybe a little wider (I know this can be done upto a certain point because I have done it before). Anyone any suggestions? I was considering the Continental Conti-Eco CP 205/55H15 (loved them on an Audi I had previously).

try Barum Bravuris

they are made by continental, and apparently outperform them in the various tests. About £55 +Vat a corner. They work just fine on our SL.
You might want to think about the size though, I think 205/65 is more a stock size for your car.

Tyres on c250

I have just changed mine in my C250 '99 done 130k. I have fitted Conti's on the front and they seem fine. I went up to 205/65 as these fill the alloys well.
Martyn at Lancaster. I have Avons on my 450SL.
