I am planning to change all the 4 corners on my W213 (E 220d, 66 plate). They currently have 245/45 R18 100 Y XL tyres all round.

I drive mostly in the city for short trips with family and prefer comfort over performance. Occasionally travel across the country in the summers and my current tyres (Dunlop) are horribly loud on the motorway so looking for something quieter. I do not need winter/cross-climate tyres as I clock only a handful of miles in the winters.

Based on my requirrements, I had down-selected the following options for the size/speed/load rating above:
1). Michelin Primacy 4 (MO labelled)
2). Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (couldn't find MO PS4 anywhere)
3). Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 (couldn't find MO Asymm 5 anywhere but the older model Asymm 3 is MO labelled)

I read several dozen posts on here and I see people giving rave reviews about Goodyear Asymmetric 5. On paper though, Asymm 5 seems to have the poorest fuel rating and the highest external noise but, from what I understand, these ratings are subjective.

Would appreciate if the members here can chime in with their suggestions for a city driver looking for comfort. Costco is doing fantastic deals on all the above tyre makes so want to buy it in the next couple of days.

Those fuel figures are not real world like the BS mpg figures of cars on an automotive treadmill .

Enjoy .

I have run Michelin Primacy on a former C204 and if you want a long wear life they are superb. They are quite hard rubber and may not offer the best wet grip, would depend on your driving style. They didn't strike me as being a noisy tyre, not like the Pirelli P Zero's I had on another W204 I had. They offer low rollng resistance which should give you good fuel consumption. I found them to be perfect for me and would certainly run them again :)

I had watched these videos previously. If anything, this had left me more confused as he sounded diplomatic like a politician. ;) So was looking for first hand experience of MB owners here.

Thanks. I read the same about Primacy 4. Low wear, good fuel consumption and, most importantly, MO labelled (does if matter so much?) were the reasons for it being my top choice before I came to read other reviews here. Tyre Reviews didn't rate them too high nor too low.

Many of the users here have been speaking highly of Asymm 5 and it also is £30 a corner cheaper (as the guy on Tyre Reviews says). Makes the choice a wee bit more confusing :D

Naa , it's a no brainer , top tyre , cheaper and best rim protector and often deeper of the top tyres .
