Hi All

Not posted for a while as I took the car off the road for winter - however looking to get it back on the road for March (I am an optimist with the weather!!)

Need some advice/opinions please.... I need new tyres for the SLK

At the moment on the rear it has some Continental Contisportcontacts, however I hear -Goodyear F1 asymmetrics are good....

Would enjoy everyone's thoughts

Goodyear F1 asymmetric 5 and Michelin Pilot sports are good. Depends want you want from the tyre though!

We had 2 SLK200K's, we found then very neutral with tyres, they came with Conti Sports a good tyre but a little expensive. I had a set of Falken & a set of Kuhmo tyres cheaper but the milage was lower. Possibly the best ball around tyres were the Uniroyal Rainsports, outstanding wet grip.

Goodyear Efficient Grip, on second set on my CLK. Quiet and good on wet roads.

I used to go for the most expensive tyres until a few years ago when they started costing far too much to replace when we had a run of bad luck.
So changed and bought cheap Chinese ditch finder tyres and haven't looked back, they seem to do the trick and not had any alarms or problems with them, I think that all our daily cars are fitted with these tyres and even the SL55 grips well, only thing I would say is that the road noise can be a little louder but that also depends on thread design.

I have the earlier Rain Sport 2's, which I am really impressed with, & quite a bit cheaper than the Dunlops, Good Year, Conti, & Michelin's.
The SLK has gone we now have the SLC250d came on Bridgstone which are fine. Its currently on Nokian all season tyres.
The E350CDI is on Rain Sport 2's on the front & Conti's on the rear. The Conti's still have 3mm & have done 30K miles, but I will change them to Rain Sports this summer.

Yeah, that’s true. I’m just ready to pay the extra dollar to stop even 1m quicker. It could be the difference between life and death based on momentum and reaction. Got the PS4s on the E class right now. Cost £600 all round plus a free echo which I sold for £50 Michelin have life warranty, although I don’t know how good this is ... Not managed to wheel spin these PS4s yet ... but it is only a 220d hahahah
