Hi my name is Arnie I'm new to this.I have a 2012 slk 200 and to fold down or put up the roof there is a message that says decrease speed even when I am stopped and in park.if I stop the engine and start it again it works perfectly are you supposed to stop the engine for it to work cheers Arnie.

Hello and welcome

You need to be not moving for the roof to work in an SLK (or slow slow as to be effectively stopped).
Sounds like you have a fault with a speed sensor of the car thinks it’s moving so won’t open the roof.

The abs,esp and esp off lights are on on the cash would this affect the opening and closing of the roof cheers Arnie.

yes it will , they give the ECU the info it needs for the roof , gearbox and many other things so get that fault rectified and I'm sure it will be ok
