Newbie, 1st Car Problems...

Hi,

I just bought my first car a 2002 C200K its due for an service A in 6000miles can anyone suggest any cheap Merc approved garages where I can get this done? I walked in to the showroom dont think the girl took me seriously maby because I'm 22, she said she will call me back with the info as the technicians were all busy, still waiting for that call.

Also I have the SRS light on, on my dash been to a few local garages they say their computer cannot communicate with the airbag brain....technical terms I guess lol, can anyone also advise where I can get that checked out?

Hi, the car will have to go on a star diagnostic to read the fault codes, not all indies have one, main dealers do, try a different dealer, most will give you a diagnosis not all of them are that busy! ask for a cost first ,also the service ring around for a deal , my nearest in redhill surrey was offering free diagnostic check and 40min check over of car free, obviously looking for work but it shows the state of the private sector. give out your area and someone will have dealer or indie information for you, all the best. rapido.

Thank Rapodo, do you know if they are still doing the free diagnostic near you? I'm in East London I've spoken to the dealers in Stratford they have told me diagnostic is charged at £99 for the first hour, is that reasonable or does anyone know anywhere i can get it cheaper?

It was a sad day when they took it away, I think that Bolide knows some in E London

Guys, I'm looking to put a CD changer into my c200K, do you know if I need a specific model or will any MB cd changer fit in also where to you fit it in to and would I be able to do it myself. thanks,
