Hello All. After reading through the forums for about a month I decided to take the plunge and not only join but also invest in a Mercedes. Thank you all for the helpful comments and information I have read previously.
I am now the proud owner of a '98 230K Sport with 120K on the clock and a full MBSH.
I am sincerely hoping I have not purchased a "dog" and that my new pride and joy will continue to run for another 120K without serious problems.
Are there any more spcifics I should watch out for with regards to my car? I have seen all the revious history and service sheets and it appers to all be in order. Quite a few new parts fitted over the years.
As it is the Kompressor (supercharged) car are there any symptoms I should watch out for in the Kompressor itself? and/or what needs to be done in order to keep the engine (specifically the Kompressor) in tip-top condition so as not to abuse/wear it more than necessary?
Thank you in advance

As Blobcat, I think that when you have read the postings you will see that its a good idea to keep an eye on the engine breathing pipes, they all come off easily to clean, this could stop failures possibly.

Good Start

Thanks appreciate such prompt responses.
Does the Haynes manual cover the C230K specifically? Or is there another place to find similar material/literature reference the Kompressor engine specifically?

No, the Haynes manual doesn't really address the supercharger but it is still a great investment for all of the other parts of the car it covers. Mercedes sells a CD and you can find copies of the Mercedes WIS program on ebay if the Haynes doesn't help you solve your problems.

Haynes manual wiring drawings vastly incomplete and inaccurate
better off buying cd.
