Newbie - advice on aftermarket alloys for CLK?

Hi I am new to this forum. I drive a 2001 CLK 200 cabriolet. The 16" standard alloys are getting quite grubby and starting to corrode so thinking of upgrading to some aftermarket alloys possibly AMG replicas.
My question is that which is the best to go for 17" or 18" alloys? Also do aftermarket wheels raise the car as on BMW alloys and therefore require lowering or does the car drop OK? I'm looking to spend about £400 on a second hand as I'll be selling the car in a few months anyway. Also please state best place in London/South East where I could pick up a set of wheels.

Regards
Adam

Try motor sport wheels http://www.mswuk.com/
I would go for 17in if you go for 18in the sidewall of the tyre would
be reduced for wheel arch clearance resulting in a rougher ride
