Just bought my first 350 cdi
Drives beautifully but it seems a noisy engine compared to my old 3.0 Audi tdi.
Is this cdi engine normally on the noisy side?.

Welcome, Johno, not heard of the 350 cdi, engine being particularly noisy, I don't think mine is, but I've never heard or driven an Audi 3.0 tdi to compere.

I think the Mercedes diesel engines are slightly more vocal than other makes of diesel, except for an FX taxi from the 70s.
Compared to my Renault diesel the CDi is a lot louder.

Hello John and welcome. I've never thought of the 350 engine as noisy but like Tony above, I've never driven an Auto 3.0l
