I'm tempted to say pop into Jacksons your local dealer -very helpful usually- say you are pondering a new E Class and can't decide whether to go for COMAND or not. Like a brief demo.

I'm tempted; but I shall resist it.:)

Boltman i have every sympathy with you, we've got the dreaded satnav on our toyo and its a nightmare.

The handbook for the satnav alone is as big as the rest of the motor, and it takes me about 20 minutes of fiddling with the thing before i get any joy at all.

When we come to sell, i shall be advertising as unused satnav for sale toyo included.

Funnily enough a mate called in tonight and brought his tomtom with him to show me, he handed it to me and i'd got it set up in 30 secs and me a complete numpty when it comes to such things.

Garmin is a lot more reliable according to my local Halfords.

BTW the COMAND satnav is dead simple once you have learned the basics.

On a long trip through many strange complicated towns my Comand was a dream compared to many, just that barograph of when to turn is a dream, unlike the add on versions

Actually, the Garmin has that feature too. Very useful. And of course fixed speed cameras and weekly updates on the location of mobile units. And TMC. Amazing for the price.
