Newbie to be vito traveliner

Hello all
First thing i want to say is that i am getting a new mercedes vito travel liner extra long wheel base , and would like to know if there is anything i should know about before i get one.

I have read that there is a problem with rust , i know this wont be a problem for at least a few years . My car will be ready for march 1st 2009 in jet balck with black tinted windows.

The new model traveliner does not have a rust problem and the front wings are plastic ! It's the old model that had a rust problem some years fare better than others but generally if you kept it clean and waxed now and again you didn't have to much of a problem . The very early ones on P/R and S reg were very bad and there was a recall to have the bonnets repainted because of severe rust on the underside of the bonnet after only a month or two of use from new, also the slam panel corrodes badly.The body rust tended to appear along the door bottoms.I have two of the old model 1999 & 2002 both extremely high milage on the road 7 days a week ,they are washed every other day even every day during winter months waxed occasionally and have fared very well with rust just starting to appear on the 1999 one and thats done over 600,000 miles.The 2002 one has done 200,000 miles and is as clean as a whistle.
