Newbie. W108 owner - hello

I have just signed up, so this is just as an introduction, I have owned my 280S 1970 W108 for more than four years now and have carried out a lot of work on it. So if there is anyone who does their own repairs etc I’d be interested to hear about them.
Attached are a few images.
I also own a C200 AMG line estate if anyone as any discussions on these it would good to hear these too.

Born in Devonport in Auckland but not lived in NZ for 32 years now.

I lived in D’port and later Albany, we came back to UK 19 years ago.

You wouldn't have been far from where I spent my teenage years then.
We lived just off Sunset Road.

I used to go to school with the Clemow kids (of Clemow farm) at Rangitoto College. Superb school.
Spent a lot of time driving much too fast along Bush Road back in the days when it was gravel before all the housing started to appear.
Also spent lots of time on the beach at Mairangi Bay - one of my mates lived in the house nearest the Surf Life Saving Club.
Lots of good times.

Devonport is lovely. My early childhood was spent round there and used to go through the tunnels in My Victoria and North head. Also remember going to the lovely art deco movie theater there to see The Great Escape. I see it's been recently restored too.
When I was born mum and dad were living in Tudor Crescent - really lovely little street of old colonial houses.

We lived on Foley Quarry road which is off Dairy Flat road we could see Tiritiri Matangi Is. from the lounge, beautiful!.... we lived on Stanley Point road in Devonport, more great views of Waitemata Harbour.

Wow... I used to race up Foley Quarry Road when it was used as a hill climb for Auckland University Car Club (and I think later Hibiscus Coast Motorsport Club). That would have been early 80s - maybe 82 or 83.

00SLK on here is another 'Auckland' boy but he was further south near Pukekohe.
