Hi all, Ive just bought a clk 320 1998 and it has a couple of problems! and wondered if you could help! It will start and run happily for about 15mins and then just cut out as if there is no fuel and then you have to wait for 20 mins or so for it to start again! Then it will run for another 10 mins or so and will do the same again:confused: I am going to try a fuel pump relay first and then maybe a pump which is going to start getting costly:( I have had it diagnostically checked by mercs proper software but is not finding a fault code! I just wondered if this problem has come up on her before with a possible sollution before i start spending lots of money;) Second problem is the heater blower not working:( it is the panel type heater control with the aircon and push button control, would this be bushes in the motor as with the other threads..
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum, this could well be the CPS and it fits the bill perfectly

Ahh Thanks For quick reply Television! Just tried the relay and its not that! My brother is a merc technician and he has run the star software and no fault code, He sounded surprised the the cps doesnt show a fault on the software as its usually first port of call! He is going to look at it later in the week, Have you heard of this problem not showing on the star before, Thanks for your help, Not a good start to mercedes ownership ehh

The CPS can be tested on an ohmmeter and it should be 1k Ω
when good and open circuit when bad and read over 100kΩ.

The CPS is the most common fault on the forum, there is even a recall going on for the E class right now.

They hardly ever leave a code

As Malcolm the crank sensor very rarely shows up on the short test and fits the fault exactly on this one.
