Bought a 2023, 300 4Matic static demonstrator with 14 miles on the clock.

These don't seem to have much in common with my last Merc, a 190 back in the 80s.

Welcome. That looks very nice.

It has presence, and with the side windows dropped and the excellent sun roof open, it does turn the odd head. And it has a nicer interior than its replacement, which has too much shiny plastic, made necessary by the need to accommodate the larger screen which has also caused most of the physical buttons to disappear.

Extremely pleased with it. Very well implemented technology, especially the very clever integration of the hybrid motor and the unexpectedly low fuel consumption”—600-650 miles per tankful—but not entirely sold yet on the run flat tyres.

Is that the OM654 engine? I had that in my W213 220d and without all the hybrid (weight...) I could get 925 miles (from 66 ltr tank) - I regularly saw >80mpg on a 3 hr 180 mile run - I also had 17" non-runflat tyres which were nice and comfortable
