Hi everyone, just bought a little A140 for wife recently, but didnt use it for a while, yesterday tried to start it then found the battery was dead, not a big problem, recharged the battery, starts again now. but just found few questions here, some of you may know them already, so if you know anything about these problems below, plz give me your answer. A big Thank you.:D

1: when I was charging the battery, I found the battery can not be fully charged. the battery charger's "battery charging" light was always on, even after 18 hours it still "charging". my battery charge has 2 lights showing the battery's condition -"20%"with red light and "80%" with green light. at that time the 80% green light was on for long time.I think the battery was nearly fully charged but not 100%. Should I get a new battery instead? checked few webs some of them got Capacity - 44Ah CCA(SAE) - 360A, others got Capacity - 44Ah CCA(EN) - 440A or Capacity - 45Ah CCA(EN) - 330A. Which one is the best??

2: When I put the battery back to the car,the "ESP" and "ABS" light both on all the time after I started the car. they were perfect before I took the battery off. so I dont think its a big problem, at least I m sure its not a real damage, but I dont know how to sort this kind of electric problem.

Can anyone give me an idea? Cheers~:)

How old is the battery? There is normall a date stamp on them somwhere.

Turn the steering wheel full lock left to right a few times and the BAS?ESP light will go out.

I suspect the battery is had it.

Stella please and make it cold ;)

It may look new because it is hidden away in the floor away from dust etc.

Have a look at the terminals, there is often a date stamp on there.

wow... a girl:eek: bit surprised...

Stella,what a beautiful name.;)

well back to where we were - no stamp on the battery after i went out took the battery out again. but its not new. found a code on the plastic - B0608224d08, so I guess this battery was made on 22/06/08,maybe??

willing to get a new battery anyway,if the car broke down on the road with a dead battery, I ll be the man to push it anyway...;)

I m going to leave it there for another 2 days, if the battery dead again, then 100% a new battery needed.

thanks again stella for the help. I may come back for more helps if I m unlucky enough:cool:

althought I'm a man, but I must say somehow you are better than me on these cars:rolleyes: guess you'd love to hear that.
