I Have Watched This Site For Ages Now But Never Registered,
I Have Had Two C Class's Both Leased From New So No Problems
What So Ever. I Am Picking Up A 1999 Clk 320 Soft Top On March 1st
For Me And The Wife To Enjoy In Our Retirement. Its Done 68k With Full Mbh, Paid Top Wack But Can't See A Blemish On Her And It's A Local Car. I Am Amazed At The 30 Year Rust Waranty Thing, This Is Like Saying A 1977 Car Won't Have Any Rot!!!!! Surely This Will Cost Mercedes A Fortune In 15 Or 20 Years Time.maybe Thats Why Dealer Costs Are So High, A Sort Of Pre-payment Thing. Anyway I've Finaly Done It And Posted Something. By The Way I'm In The Northwest,blackpool Area. Bye For Now .

Thanks All, And To Arv I Paid Full Screen Price £13k But Got 12 Months Tax And Mot Even When It Was Mot'ed Till September, A Service At Speeds (local Mb Dealer) And 3 Months 3000 Mls Waranty On Every Thing, Even Bulbs Oh And New Tyres All Round So It Should Be Ok .

Hi and welcome to the sight. This is a common miunderstanding. The 30yr is an anti perforation warranty - not anti rust. So, it would have to rot from the inside out fro the warranty to kick in. In reality, this will take forever and to be fair, how many 20 year old cars still visit the dealer? Any that do, fair enough really - the owners will certainly have paid vastly more over the odds than the cost of the work. Plus, as the dealer won't have a clue about the car, chances are it will have had everything replaced a few times by then.

I see you have a similar warranty to the one I had. Hopefully you will not need it, but as its 3 months 3000 miles I would give it some good runs out in that time. Anything that shows up, whip it straight in no matter how small, as it could be a pointer to something more drastic.
