As many will know there is the ability on the NTG! & NTG2 (and probably many other Head Units) to Brighten or Dim the display.
Not talking about the Day/Night Brightness adjustment control, but just dimming or brightening the display
Several chaps with similar vintage or model cars I have spoken to say 'didn't know you could do that' or really? 'what Display adjustment control? I musr read the manual'
No-one said 'yup; use it all the time!'
Does anyone ever use it?
If so is it 'adjust and forget' or 'constant fiddle to get it just right for different content or external features (eg weather)
Would be interesting to know
Thanks

the idea is its user preference - set it once and never touch it, till the next lunatic buys the car and wants it wrong

if the original user was sensible and the next owner is grown up enough to understand if its was set up correctly, it might be left well alone for the entire car's life - thus it would be perfectly understandable if an owner never knew it was there, as it never needed touching...

No problem with the concept. My reality is that the display is fading - it is pretty much down to its half life brightness, and attempts to get genuine replacements from the Chinese have all ended in failure.
The fade is not constant, being very bad when the display is cold and a bit better when warm.
Thus my familiarity with the brightness adjustment facility
Actually the point is now moot - I am digitising the display and much improving its resolution in the process, as well as adding auto RV Cam, something my ageing neck will be happy about!
