Niggling eletrical problem?

Hi all. I am posting this on behalf of one of my workmates as he has no net access.

He has a 95 C280 Sport Auto and has asked me to find out about this problem. He says he has a green and red light on both the drivers door and the panel above the rear view mirror. When he unlocks the car he says either the red lights or the green lights flash on both the door and the roof panel. But recently he has noticed a couple of times when he unlocks the car that both the red and green lights flash at the same time then alternately. The car still starts OK but he was wondering what this indication meant.

I don't really know very much about Mercs myself so I have tried to describe this as accurately as I can.

Can anyone help?

They flash together to indicate that the battery in the remote is on the way out. That said, I've had them do this when the batteries were fine too! Change the remote batteries and see if it settles down but they do do this occasionally anyway. That remote system was always a bit dodgy.

Ok that's great thanks. I'll let him know your answer.
By the way he also needs a new ECU because his last one kind of got fried when jump leads were connected the wrong way round on his battery. Oops!
But I'll let you all know how he gets on with that.
