Over the last couple of weeks I have notice that the A140 seems to have little power when pulling off when cold (i.e I have to bring the revs up quite high, to enable me to pull off in first gear else I would stall). After a couple of mins, everything is fine. The problem seems occur each day when the car is started for first time, or when the engine is left and cold.

Possibly connected - A couple of weeks ago I started the car which ran very roughly, and died on idle 2 or 3 times. After giving it some revs, I could move, but the car had little power (struggled to get it up to 35mph) and ran rough on idle. After about 2-3 miles everything seemed ok again.

Any ideas anyone? Air Mass Sensor? Would this not cause problems all the time, or just when cold?

POOR IDLE WHEN COLD, A CLASS,

HI, I HAD AN A CLASS 160 IN MY WORK SHOP WITHE SAME PROBLEM, I PUT IT ON THE DIAGNOSTICS, AND IT SHOWED THE AIR MASS SENSOR FAULTY, THIS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN COLD, THERE IS TWO TYPES OF AIR MASS SENSORS ON THE A CLASS, ONE INCLUDES THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT ABOUT 300.00 AND THE OTHER ONE IS JUST THE AIR MASS UNIT. HOPE THIS HELPS. :)
