Hi all

I have no airflow coming from the centre air vents -neither hot or cold. The side vents work fine as do all the other outlets - any ideas please?

You only get cold air from the centre vents on the W202, are you sure the vent is open and the directional control is set to the centre vents.

Hi George

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have set the directional control to the vents and I get a good strong cold air-stream from the driver and passenger air vents but nothing from the centre vent. I did check that it was fully open and even removed the vent to make sure but nothing was coming from the outlet at all.

The adjustment of flaps and air direction is done by cables at the back of the control pannel. when you turn the dial, two spindles turn the cable gear behind.

when you turn the direction knob on your car can you hear the cables being moved?
it is a good idea to remove the tray below the heater pannel, fell behind it and check that the two spindles are turning and are ingauged in the cable adjuster correctly behind

I have checked the linkage at the distribution knob end and all seems well - both spidles are turning. I cannot not locate the the internal centre vent flap from the centre vent outlet as I am thinking this must be stuck - has anyone got a pic or diagram or can point me in the direction of where it is and how to get to it?

Pollen filter is completely clean and looks as though it was replaced very recently.
