Is it possible to connect my iPhone 12 to the speaker system of my 2010 C250. There doesn't seem to be an AUX plug-in point but I have found the multipoint plug in the roof of the glove compartment and have bought a lead for it but the lead has no USB or AUX plug-in point – it seems to be just a block of black plastic ! – can I use this to make the connection?

Hello and welcome

Its most likely an iPod interface connection. You can get an adapter to 3.5mm jack, which you could connect your iPhone to on a headphone connector. Not sure if they ever made an iPod interface to Lighting connector

Thank you for your reply but I’m afraid it doesn’t mean anything to me! I am totally non-technical. What is the equipment I will have to buy, and does my existing multi pointed plug-in lead (with solid black plastic at the other end) help me in anyway? Sorry to be so ignorant of what is obviously familiar technology to others

Please put up a photo of what you have in your glovebox connection and what lead you have already.

The leads are available on eBay

I attach photos of the lead I have bought and as you can see, there is no opening or aperture for an aux plug or USB – thank you for your continuing help

That looks like a Bluetooth adapter, plug it in and see if you can connect to it,

Alternatively you need to get another lead that plugs into the socket in the glovebox that will give you the connection you need

Do you have a photo of the connection or port in the car itself, not just the lead which you bought?

That would help

Agreed - pretty sure that’s a Bluetooth adaptor - the “BT BENZ” label may be a clue!
